Two different licences, and NSW is phasing in the second one
Applying pesticides for a fee in NSW requires a pest management technician licence issued by the EPA, not by Fair Trading, and it sits on a different public register from the building trades. Termite work is mid regulatory change: a separate timber pest management technician licence is being phased in, and anyone who renewed or first obtained a licence after 17 December 2021 needs that specific licence for timber pest treatments. There is also a distinction customers never hear, that inspection-only work using no pesticides does not require an EPA licence at all. A business that explains which licences it holds, and on which register they are searchable, is doing something its competitors are not.
