For solar installers
Solar installers: are customers finding you when they ask AI?
A long, researched purchase. You need to keep turning up across weeks of questions, not just once.

“Who installs solar panels near me?”
“What does a home battery cost?”
“Which solar installers are accredited in my area?”
Jobs we write your pages around: rooftop solar installs, battery storage, panel cleaning and servicing, system upgrades and inverter replacement.

SAA accreditation, and the scheme changed hands in 2024
To install a system whose owner can claim small-scale technology certificates, the installer must be accredited by Solar Accreditation Australia and must also hold an unrestricted electrical licence in the state of installation. That scheme transferred from the Clean Energy Council to SAA on 29 May 2024, which matters commercially because a great deal of older marketing copy and a great deal of AI training data still refers to CEC accreditation. Customers are advised to ask for the accreditation number and check its status before requesting a quote, so it should already be on your site. Two other SAA rules are worth publishing because they explain your lead times honestly: an accredited installer may sign off no more than two installations per day, and must attend the site at set-up, mid-installation and at testing and commissioning.

We link the issuing body, not a directory, so you can verify this yourself rather than take our word for it. This is general information about licensing as it stood on the checked date, not legal advice, and the issuing body is the authority on your obligations.
Weeks of questions, and you have to be in all of them
Solar is the longest and most information-heavy purchase on this list. The customer spends weeks moving through a sequence of questions, whether it is worth it, how big a system, which panels, which inverter, whether to add a battery, what the rebate actually pays, how the feed-in tariff changes the sums, and they ask a different question each time. Appearing once is worthless; appearing across the sequence is the whole game. It is also the trade most exposed to bad actors, since heavy discount advertising and disappearing installers have trained buyers to be suspicious, so accreditation and a checkable trading history carry unusual weight.
What AI assistants currently get wrong about solar installers
This is the trade where AI answers are most often out of date, because the rebate arithmetic, the feed-in tariffs and the accreditation body itself have all changed recently. Assistants still cite Clean Energy Council accreditation and stale rebate figures. An installer who publishes current, dated, sourced numbers is not competing for attention, they are correcting the record.
What reviews actually measure in this trade
Solar reviews arrive twice: once after installation, and again months later when the first real bill lands. The second wave is the one that decides your reputation, and almost nobody goes back to ask for it. A deliberate follow-up after the first quarterly bill is the highest-return review habit in this trade.
